Day 8. Gettysburg to Philladelphia

Went on a battleground tour this morning at the site of the bloodiest battle of the Civil war at Gettysburg, there are about 1800 monuments to different soldiers from both sides, it was a terrific tour and the guide was fantastic. The main battle went from the 1st to the 3rd of July 1863. There wer 51,00 soldiers left dead on the battlfield that were temporarily put into mass graves before most were retrieved by famillies to take home for a proper buriel. General Robert E Lee led the confederate army in this futile attempt to beet the nort once and for all, he did not suceed. Part of the tour was being able to visit the war museum and the Cyclorama which is a 377 foot long 42 foot high painting that is in a complete circle, it was the most amazing thing we have seen for a long time. We drove to Philadelphia in the afternoon and are looking forward to exploring the city tomorrow

These are pics of the Cyclorama
